Kayann's first field trip for preschool was at Thomasson Family Farms. The kids got to do the petting zoo, corn kernel bin, drink some chocolate milk and learn about pumpkins and the farm, and do the activity areas. It was such a fun trip for the kids and they got to do so much.
Another Halloween, another year older. This year Kayann wanted to be 20 different things. We ended up deciding on Doc McStuffins. :) Next year I am thinking princess :) Scroll all the way to the bottom to see what Kayann was in 2013 and 2012! I love watching her grow in photographs!
So most people I am sure have heard of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. However I know more of you have heard of That Mormon Church everyone talks about or The Mormons. The Mormon religion is a Christian religion and the name that the people in the church like to go by and prefer is called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. So now that, that's out of the way. I am sure most of you are aware that the church has a missionary program where young men and young women serve the church as missionaries for 18 months for the ladies and 2 years for the guys. I received a phone call last week to photograph a young woman who had been called to serve a mission for the church. She was leaving the following morning to begin her service to the Lord's work. For all missionaries who serve this is an exciting time for them. I was more than happy to go snap some photos of this young woman with her closest friends and family so that she could have some photographs to look back on. The neat thing is a book will also be made out of the images for her to see while she is away on her mission. When you serve a mission, you are completely devoted to the church and the gospel and it's teachings, and sharing that knowledge and testimony with others. In order to serve to the best of your abilities you must follow some rules as a missionary. You are only allowed to call and talk to your family at certain times and for holidays, and you are not able to come home and visit your family while you are serving. You aren't allowed to date anyone or have someone at home you are fully committed too. Also all those people you saw at your missionary farewell, well you won't get to see them until your mission is over. So pictures are a pretty big deal. I mean that's a long time to not see those people who you love and care so much for. So by having photos you have a great memory to look back on plus maybe while you are away having those photos will bring you some comfort in case you get homesick. Most missionaries I have met tend to bury themselves in the Lords work that they don't get homesick or they don't get homesick until the very end. I hope that when this sister looks back at her photos it brings her some joy and happy memories as well as gets her through that one time she misses someone or just home in general. I would like to congratulate Sister Black on her mission call and wish her good luck. I hope the lord blesses this woman in her endeavor while she serves her call.
So a few weeks ago I had the opportunity to shoot another outdoor boudoir session. I did a boho themed shoot! It came out incredible from the outfits, to the location, to the model, and clothing. I can't believe how incredible this session turned out. I would LOVE to do more stylized sessions. It wouldn't even have to be a boudoir stylized session. Just a normal session, engagement, family, child, senior, cosplay, whatever....lol So take a look at the images and let me know what you think. If you would like to do a stylized session let me know. I kept most of the images below pretty tame. Client's wishes so if you are interested in booking a boudoir session and would like to see more from this session let me know and I can share a private link with you. :) Thanks everyone!
Well my sweet baby girl is 4 and has started preschool this year! I can't believe she is going to school! It's been pretty amazing watching this one grow. But I will have to say I am dearly missing the baby stage. I feel like I just brought this sweet pink little baby home from the hospital yesterday. I mean just 4 years ago I was a new momma! Now I am sending her off to school! I know it's just preschool, but this girl was so excited that I couldn't calm her down long enough to get her to pay attention to get ready for school. She was a jumping bean this one. She was so excited that when I dropped her off at school she totally forgot I was even there! And taking photos in class......well hahaha forget about that she was ready.....I think I was too. I enjoyed my 3 and half hour break! Three days a week 3 and a half hours of MOM time! Is pretty awesome. But it is more awesome for all of my clients because that means I can now schedule weekday shoots!!!!! Which is especially great for anyone wanting to do boudoir! :) I think my favorite thing about her first day was when I went to go pick her up. She said to me, "Mom, I don't want to go home." I love that she had so much fun she didn't want to leave. In fact three weeks in and she still wants to stay and play and learn. I am such a lucky momma. So being the great mom-tog-grapher that I am, I managed to sneak in the coveted back to school photos. I LOVE that I was the one who got to capture her excitement. Seriously that is a huge bonus to being a photographer, great shots of your kid whenever you want them. Without having to pay someone else....... :) So here's to a great year in preschool for Kayann! Hope you all enjoy the images. :)
My baby is four! I seriously can't believe how big my little girl is getting! She starts preschool this fall. It makes me so sad that she is growing so fast! I am looking forward to all of the new things that I am going to be able to do with her and am very excited for her to embark on preschool! She is really excited about it too! She's super smart and knows a lot. I am excited that she will be making friends and getting some much needed social skills! Giving mama the time to start doing some major photography shoots while she is in school! So many changes for my little. But very much enjoying what's left of the toddler years!
I finally got to knock something off of my bucket list. After starting indoor boudoir sessions and falling in love with photographing boudoir and making women feel amazing. I really wanted to take it outside. I have seen some amazing outdoor boudoir. The only problem with outdoor boudoir though is finding somewhere that you can do it where the client has privacy. Luckily for me another photographer I know found a place in MY backyard of Enumclaw! It's private property but her and I will be able to use the property when we like. I am pretty excited to be able to now offer this to my clients. My first session outside was AMAZING! I can't wait to do it again! I am now booking September outdoor sessions! Sessions cost $330 include hair and makeup, 3 outfits, all images on disc, a gallery, and printing rights. If you are interested please contact me as this price is an introductory price. You must be willing to let me use some of the images to add to my website and Facebook and for advertising to get this price or the package will cost you about $440 I will knock $50 off the normal package if you would prefer to do your own hair and makeup. So take a look at these stunning shots!!!!!
So I got to do a shoot at Wildwood Park in Puyallup, Wa Let me tell you this park is AMAZING! I had driven by it a million times, but never gone in to take a look around. It's stunning. You can't see it from the road you actually have to drive in. It's very woodsy. Has a great play area for the kiddos a little sheltered picnic area a creek a waterfall a cool building with a rock chimney and the steps down into the park are wood and long and make for great photographs plus you can get some great forestry shots! In fact I wished this park was right down the street from my house because I would shoot there all the time! It is amazing! Hope you enjoy the images! :)
If you haven't attended a Bracketstars car show event yet, you should. The cars are always awesome! Not to mention the trophies are amazing too! My husband even won best unfinished rod! Plus there's always a raffle! This car show is one that Carl Thorsett does every year to kick off the NHRA National drags at pacific raceways. He even gives out FREE tickets to the drags. All you have to do is show up to the car show and buy some raffle tickets. It is free to show your car at this show held in the parking lot of Performance Grill in Auburn, WA. There is a D.J. and a live band plus outside of the restaurant is a beer garden so you can participate in the show, drink with your buddies, and enjoy the sun. The show runs every year from 5pm to 10pm and is usually on a Thursday. But better get there early, because at 5pm parking for the show is already full. Most guys show up at the grill for registration at 3pm. There are 20 trophies including Best in show, best display, best engine, and best year classes like 40's 50's and 60's The Bracketstars association certainly knows how to throw a party. So if you want to check out there next show it is this weekend Saturday Aug 9th at the Enumclaw Expo Center the old classic cars are from 9am to 3pm and then an import car show will take place at the same location from 4pm to 10 pm with just as many trophies and raffle prizes as the last show.
